Emanuel Ulrich Jr.

Eureka - Emanuel Ulrich Jr., 86, or Eureka, IL, passed peacefully away into the arms of Jesus his Lord and Savior, with his family by his side at 3:00 pm on Monday November 23, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on July 6, 1929 in Eureka, IL to Emanuel Daniel and Mathilda Shertz Ulrich. He married Frances Garber on December 26, 1959 in Metamora, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Beth (Tim) Chu of Eureka, IL; Randy (Lonnie) Ulrich of Roanoke, IL; Melinda (Walt) Nunnally of Washburn, IL; Mark (Marybeth) Ulrich of Carlisle, PA; Kevin (Valinda) Ulrich of Tremont, IL; three brothers, Ken (Ruby) Ulrich of Eureka, IL; Harold (Lila) Ulrich of Eureka, IL; Frank (Cara) Ulrich of Archbold, Ohio; two sisters, Mildred (Leonard) Reeb of Eureka, IL; Geneva (Vernon) Meyer of Wooster, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wilfred Ulrich; and one granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Ulrich.

Emanuel attended Goshen College and graduated from Eureka College. He farmed in the area for many years and owned Ulrich Insurance Agency in Eureka.

Emanuel was very active in the community. He was a member of the Eureka Rotary where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and he served on the board for Woodford County Mutual Insurance Company. He was a member of the Living Faith Fellowship Church in Eureka and was a past member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church where he had served as elder, Torchbearer leader, church singles leader and life long Sunday School teacher.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 28th at 10:30 am at Eureka Bible Church. Pastor Brett Woerner will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday November 27th and from 9:45 - 10:30 am on Saturday both visitation being held at Eureka Bible Church. Burial will be held in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Living Faith Fellowship Church or to Peoria Rescue Ministries. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
